Jakarta - Of the six suspects in the crowd in Petamburan , including Habib Rizieq Shihab , two suspects have not yet surrendered to Polda Metro Jaya. They are the General Chairperson of the FPI, Ahmad Shabri Lubis and the Commander of the Islamic Defenders Army (LPI) Maman Suryadi.
"We also hope that the other two have not surrendered to surrender immediately," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters at the Jakarta Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Sunday (13/12/2020).
Yusri did not mention a deadline for surrender. However, he warned, if they do not turn themselves in immediately, the police will arrest them.
"As soon as possible. We will arrest him," he said.
It is known that three other suspects besides Habib Rizieq, namely Haris Ubaidillah as the committee chairman, Ali bin Alwi Alatas as the committee secretary, and Habib Idrus as the head of the event section, have surrendered to the Polda Metro Jaya.
"This morning at around 01.00 WIB, three of the five people surrendered themselves to Polda Metro Jaya," Yusri told reporters, Sunday (13/12).
"First on behalf of Haris Ubaidillah as committee chairman, then second on behalf of Idrus, third on behalf of Ali Alwi Alatas. The three men together with their lawyers came to Polda Metro Jaya and surrendered to Polda Metro," said Yusri.
To the three people, Polda Metro Jaya did not detain them. The reason is that their sentence is under 5 years.
Yusri Yunus explained, the three suspects were only suspected of Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine with the threat of one year in prison. Yusri said, in the criminal law procedure, the threat of a criminal sentence of less than 5 years in prison cannot be detained.
"Article 93 is only a one year threat, it will not be detained," said Yusri.
The fate of the three people was different from Habib Rizieq Shihab who was a suspect and was arrested. Apart from the health quarantine article, Habib Rizieq was subject to the incitement article and against the officers.
The police continue to monitor the health condition of the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab, who has now been detained at the Polda Metro Jaya remand center. Habib Rizieq is currently in good health.
"Until now, brother Rizieq Shihab, we told him last night we were detaining him at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center. His condition is healthy, we are still monitoring it," said Yusri.
